I'm a male MAP who struggled with severe depression and anxiety as a teen. I developed maladaptive sexual behaviors, particularly surrounding the use of porn, to cope. Through education, therapy for my depression and anxiety, and general growing up, I had an awakening of conscience in adulthood that led me to finally pursue therapy for my attraction and issues stemming from it. I have finally achieved a degree of peace and am glad to say that I am free of the problematic behaviors that used to make me feel irredeemable.
