1. Anime avatars look cute but are a cliché and activate the disgust of teiliophiles. If your aim is to help destigmatise MAPs, then choose something less provocative.

3. MAP flags are favoured by some, but aren't especially popular with the LGBTQ+ community.

4. If you're under 18, then it's great if you make use of resources and support for MAPs. I'm really sorry there isn't more of it at the moment. Bear in mind that >

> as a minor you are vulnerable on this platform to people with ill intentions. Don't give away personal information, don't engage sexually with anyone and generally try to prove that MAPs can behave responsibly online. Because we can, you know.

5. Debate, yes. Make the case, >

> but be aware that our opponents want to trap you into reportable behaviour. Meet cussing with reasonable arguments; meet trolling with facts; meet suicide-baiting with reports.

6. Don't sexualise kids on this platform. It's rightly against the rules, and definitely don't >

> post material that sexualises minors, either openly or in DM. This is not what anti-contact MAPs do (and a lot of pro-contacts avoid it too).

7. Look out for and be kind to allies. These are people who are not MAPs themselves who out of generosity are here helping us argue >

> for destigmatisation, support and the things we need that don't involve harming children.

8. The same arguments come up over and over and over, because most people haven't had a chance to think this issue through, and because there are many prejudices against us which are >

> unthinkingly backed up in the mainstream media, even by otherwise very thoughtful people. Take time to read threads and articles on the subject - understand the traps that antis try to force us into to make us look bad.
